Three years of jamming together and writing songs culminated in the release of Billy Electrix’ self-titled rock and roll debut album. While the music will appeal strongly to fans of southern and blues rock, the album features a range of musical styles, from powerful anthems like Azalea, Burn and Situation to contemplative, lyrical tracks like Pray and Stay.
The independent rock and roll band is based in Wilmington, NC. In 2016, drummer John Parkinson, bassist Patrick Ochoa and guitarist, singer, songwriter Bill Williams formed a rhythm and blues trio. In late 2017, keyboardist Hughes Waren joined the band. At this point, the foursome began collaborating on songs written by Williams and Billy Electrix was formed. Their debut album is a collection of songs that blends the feel of the former rhythm and blues trio with the jam of southern-rootsy soul rock.
The album’s studio sessions were recorded on the banks of the Northeast Cape Fear River at Big Rude studio owned by Chase O’Neal (of Music Loft). The tracks were then mastered by Grammy nominated engineer, Brent Lambert of Kitchen Mastering in Carrboro, NC.
